According to the data provided by Dr. Anil Kumar, program officer for National Organ Transplant Program running under Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, only 807 people donated organs in India in 2016. The total number of organs donated stood at 2,347 with kidney being the most donated organ and pancreas being the least donated organ.
