Lankapalli Sandya Priyanka has always dreamt of becoming an engineer. Recently, after much struggle, she landed a job as an Assistant Engineer in Municipal Corporation Department’s Panchayati Raj.

Diligent and determined, Sandya completed her graduation in B Tech Civil Branch from IIIT’s Nujiveedu Campus in 2015. Having studied in a Telugu medium school throughout, language proved to be a major hurdle for her, but she didn’t let that pull her down.

Sandya hails from Santhavalasa village of Araku’s Dumbriguda Mandal. She lost her father in 2012 after which her mother financially supported the entire family with the income from the paan shop she manages. Sandya helped her mother out as much as she could after school hours, and focussed on her academics in whatever remaining time she had on her hands.

Sandya’s goal in life now is to clear the civil service examinations and become an IAS Officer.

Lankapalli Sandya Priyanka was associated with Nanhi Kali for three years from 2006-2009. Nanhi Kali is an NGO dedicated to the primary education of girls from underprivileged backgrounds.
