In an exclusive interview with NDTV's Sam Daniel, Tamil Nadu DGP and Head of the  Police Force, Shankar Jiwal addresses concerns amid a spurt in sexual offences against women. Citing NCRB data, he says Tamil Nadu records one of the lowest crime rates against women in the country.  Emphasising increased awareness and improved reporting, especially in schools, the top cop said the recent rise in reported cases reflects progress - not failure - in addressing deeply rooted social crimes.
