India-Bangladesh Ties Sink Further With Bangladesh's Absurd Claims

India-Bangladesh ties are likely to be hit further with absurd claims by Bangladesh that Awami League which was banned by the current interim government in the country. In a statement, Bangladesh's Foreign Ministry said, "activities by the banned Bangladesh Awami League on Indian soil risks long-term friendship and multifarious engagements between Bangladesh & India as also mutual trust and respect between two nations' people. Bangladesh is making the absurd claim that the Awami League, which was ousted from power last year. India has responded to the statement from Bangladesh saying that it does not allow its soil to be used for activities against other countries and has reiterated its expectation that free far and inclusive elections will be held at the earliest in Bangladesh.
