Union Minister for Housing lifted the veil on the winners of Smart City Challenge, 20 cities from 11 states and one Union Territory made it to the first list of cities that will be developed into smart cities. We are joined by best minds in the field to decode the challenges on the road ahead.

Here’s a list of first 20 cities under Smart Cities Mission:-

Of these 20 cities accounting for a total population of 3.54 crore, 5 have population below 5 lakhs each, 4 in the range of 5-10 lakhs, 6 in between 10-25 lakhs, 4 between 25 and 50 lakhs and only Ahmedabad has above 50 lakhs.
