For students, getting admission into a good college is a task, but finding an affordable paying-guest accommodation (PG) is even tougher. To help you out, we list 5 localities in Delhi which you must check out, if you are looking for a good PG.

1) Kamla Nagar

This area is dominated by students, with over 10,000 of them staying in PGs and shared accommodation. It is barely 2 kilometers away from the Delhi University and has enough social infrastructure to keep you occupied. For instance, the Kamla Nagar market has plenty of eating joints, shopping arcades and bookstores and you can find a PG here at monthly rentals of Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000. Kamla Nagar also scores high thanks to its proximity to the metro station, with the Vishwa Vidyalaya line just 3 kilometers away.

2) Mukherjee Nagar

Mukherjee Nagar is known for having cheaper rental options than Kamla Nagar and is a well-known PG hub with rentals here hovering around Rs 10,000 per month. If you are looking at cracking competitive exams, you are in luck, as the locality has a number of well-regarded coaching institutes. Connectivity is not an issue either with the Guru Tech Bahadur Nagar (GTB Nagar) metro station just about 2 kilometers away.

3) Guru Tech Bahadur Nagar (GTB Nagar)

We spoke about the GTB Nagar metro station earlier and guess what? GTB Nagar is another spot you must look at. Rentals for PGs and shared accommodation start at a very pocket friendly Rs 7,000 per month and the area is known for having a number of coaching institutes and eateries for students to hang out at. The locality has its own metro station with direct connectivity to destinations such as Rajiv Chowk, Dwarka and Gurgaon.

4) Satya Niketan

Satya Niketan is the next spot on our list, thanks to 5 colleges which are in close proximity including the likes of Sri Venkateswara College and Maitreyi College among others. Rentals for PG accommodation can range between Rs 7,000 and Rs 13,000 per month. For intra-city travel and seamless connectivity to other parts of Delhi, students can use the AIIMS metro station, which is about 6 kilometers away. I know what you are thinking, that is not close enough. But that is set to change soon with the next phase of the metro gifting Satya Niketan with its own metro station

5) Munirka

Another prominent location where you can get a decent PG with all facilities is Munirka or Munirka village as it is popularly known. It is the backup option for students who can’t find accommodation in Satya Niketan and is close to 2 of the most sought after educational institutes in the country – the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). Hauz Khas is the nearest metro station and rentals here will set you back about Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 per month.
