Wear A Helmet And Be Safe, Because Someone Out There Is Waiting For You And Wants You To Reach Home Safely: Taapsee Pannu

New Delhi: ‘Someone is waiting for you and wants you to reach home safely, so focus on road safety by wearing a helmet,’ said the “Pink” actress Taapsee Pannu at the Auto Expo 2018. This plea comes on the back of statistics like daily about 28 two-wheeler riders die on Indian roads in 2016, for not wearing helmets, according to the Ministry of Road Transport And Highways. Recently, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari reiterated this in Parliament, and said as many as 1.46 lakh people lost their lives in 4.60 lakh road accidents across the country in the year 2017 and majority of the road accidents involved two-wheelers where the victims were not wearing helmets.

Taapsee urged her fans to spread love this Valentine’s day by gifting their loved ones a helmet. She added,

Every year on Valentine’s week, we express love with gifts to our loved ones. This Valentine’s week my message to my fans is – gift your loved ones a helmet and make them feel safe. Because if your helmet is on, then your life is on.

Driving home the same message, brand ambassador of Government’s Road Safety awareness campaign, Akshay Kumar said,

My message to all my fans is please wear a helmet and tell your loved ones to wear one while riding a two-wheeler.

Both, Taapsee and Akshay were at Auto Expo to launch Honda’s National Road Safety campaign #HelmetOnLifeOn.
