Volunteer Now: Connecting NGO’s and Corporates To Volunteering Opportunities

VolunteerNow helps people find awesome volunteering opportunities. It was founded in 2012 by Abhishek Marla and Utkarsh Gupta. It is unique online portal that connects NGO’s and Corporates to various volunteering opportunities. It is also an established medium for CSR campaigns and initiatives across several countries in South-East Asia and India.

VolunteerNow began with a problem we faced ourselves. We, like may of our friends, wanted to volunteer and do good for our communities, our city, our country and our sweet little planet; but we didn’t know where to start.

We wanted to volunteer but couldn’t find anything that matched our interests, our skills, our locality or our busy time schedules. We discovered the problem at the organisation end as well, with credible organisations not being able to tap the enormous potential of the youth of the country.

We started with a small team of 5 and manually matched volunteers with Non-profits, corporate organisations, events and all kinds of awesome volunteering experiences. Since then we have engaged over 2 Lac volunteers and parallel-y built a recommendation engine that matches volunteers with volunteering opportunities. What better use of technology than to create value in people’s lives, right?

We truly believe in the learning experience of volunteering, and we ask students, professionals and everyone else to VolunteerNow.

VolunteerNow is currently expanding it’s operations within South-East Asia where currently it’s being Incubated by DBS Bank and HUB Singapore in the PACT Incubator program. It is carrying this movement forward in Singapore by helping corporations enhance their employee engagement programs through social awareness campaigns in the form of volunteering.

This is Manoj Jain from Bangalore, I would like to share my city traffic experience and how much is horrible, I have a great idea to control traffic indiscipline without adding extra traffic resources. “No more escape, No more excuse” is mobile application that would help to catch traffic violators and control traffic accident. this apps also help to generate additional funds and create jobs for volunteers, I have explain whole idea in attached pdf file

I would like your team help to share this cool idea to respective department and Govt bodies to run this pilot project in one of metro city.

please revert back if you are interest to take forward this idea, you can also approach me on +918884076000

I really appreciate the initiative. But only if you could extend it to scholls would it gain its full heights. Urge the principles to organize campaigns and ask students to go control the traffic on road. Keep up the good work

Dear Readers and Citizens of INDIA

Wake up and start utilizing the power of RTI, which is the only tool in consumers hands.
Start a campaign to STOP, people from Paying Bribe at District Transport offices for Obtaining a “DRIVING LICENSE” A driving should be really tough to obtain, as it is in Western Countries and elsewhere. A driving license is for safely driving your vehicle throughout your life. Respected Red light and obey traffic rules, whether the Traffic constable is manning the crossing or not, never JUMP red light. Live and Let LIVE.

You are doing good effort. But no use of pledges unless people are afraid of doing anything wrong. Why our system allow to let people do anything without thinking other’s safety and pay challan money if caught?

My house is situated near to three top most schools in my area.

daily morning i see 100s of parents taking their kids to school on their 2 / 4 wheeler. almost 90% of these parents / teachers are either not wearing helmet or do not put seat belts. Even park their vehicles in very inaccurate way.

It has been proved that, kids learn more by seeing rather than teaching.

We want our kids to obey our sayings, whereas our gestures are telling “IT IS OK NOT TO OBEY THE RULES”

think what do we want to give our kids as future

I think, NDTV should also start a campaign, on the same

Follow simple traffic rules strictly and Be exemplary to our “Kids”
