Sachin himself has been advocating for the use of helmets in his individual capacity. He had recently written a letter to transport minister, Nitin Gadkari asking for action to be taken against manufacturers of low-quality helmets and urged for lowering prices of good quality helmets so that riders do not seek cheaper options. Additionally, he also requested the department for a large-scale awareness drives in order to educate people about the importance of using quality safety gear.
