Gayathri Vasudevan is a Doctorate in Development studies with more than 22 yrs experience in both national and international organizations. She has been extensively involved in policy issues and community mobilizations relating to livelihoods. Before joining LabourNet, Gayathri held a senior position at the multilateral International Labour Organization for 8 years.
She has also worked with various Multi-Laterals and Bi-Laterals – UNICEF, UNDP, UNESCO, NORAD, to name a few. She has more than 30 publications in the areas of labour, employment and gender issues to her credit.
LabourNet is a social enterprise based in Bangalore with a clear focus on enabling livelihoods and improving real income wages of the informal sector by improving worker skill and productivity. It provides financial inclusion, social protection and welfare services to unorganised workers, builds capacities of workers and markets their services to customers.
We believe education is not a one-time process but a continuous one, and that every individual should have an opportunity to better education and better livelihoods. Our model of work-integrated training ensures that individuals learn while they continue to earn. In the last three years, LabourNet has scaled up very fast and has a presence in 450 locations across India and has impacted more than 300,000 individuals in 15+ sectors till date.
