The Real Deal: Competition Gets Underway

The second episode of The Real Deal featured a nerve wrecking task designed to test the communication and pitching skills of the contestants in a tight space. Each contestant was given a random object to pitch to investor Jayesh Parkeh, Managing Partner, Jungle Ventures, in an elevator, under 30 seconds. The Entrepreneurs had no knowledge of the objects, nor they had any time to prepare for the business pitch. Jayesh Parekh was critical in his assessment of their pitch. The contestant’s objective was to interest Jayesh Parekh so much that he offered his business card signaling interest. This challenge is mischievously called the "Elevator Pitch" as it was a combination of time and space constraint that pushes the contestants to think on the spot and to be creative. It tested their ability in the first step of fund raising.
