Gaurav Ma Sneh Lata Hooda runs a school in the Delhi-NCR region and helps over 400 underprivileged students fight for their basic right to education.  She started teaching a handful of 20 children under a tree in 2005, after she had retired as a teacher from Delhi administration schools. She is 80 years old and believes that ‘values’ take precedence over education. “I have taught for 52 years, but sanskaar (ethics and values) is the most important thing. If that is taken care of, the character of the child will be good”, she says. Many people, moved by her zeal to make a difference, volunteered to help out and teach the children. “As I sat under a tree,  good-natured people offered to help me. I told them I don’t want money, I just need assistance to help these children and meet their needs”, she adds.
