– As told to Tania Goklany. Anshu studies at Rani Chennama Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya in Jahangirpuri, Delhi. Teach for India takes classes for her batch.

It is to be lauded on her appreciation for fellow Indians. This might be a perfect cue for India to rethink its elitist mid 19th century styled education systems. Would it be about time for education to be nationalized at primary, middle & high school levels, ensuring a common platform across the board for all children. No more private schools, to ensure integration, (social and cultural) across income, caste, religious, linguistic barriers to improve future of the country?
I know I sit in the US, but now marvel at similar systems across most developed and developing countries and find it improves unity in future generations, reduces corruption and improves social interaction across boundaries.
