Neha Kirpal jotted down her idea for an art fair on the back of an airsickness bag on her way home from London. Today, her “India Art Fair” is one of the biggest platforms for the art community in the country, featuring over 1,000 artistes from several countries. As the founder-director of the annual event, Neha Kirpal has made big strides towards her dream of making art accessible.
Neha, who holds a Masters degree in Marketing, founded the India Art Fair in 2008, and over the last eight years, it has built a strong sustainable ecosystem by bringing in over 100,000 visitors every year, and internationalising the artists.
The art fair provides a commercial platform to over 1,100 artists from India and the South Asia, and attracts some of the most important museums, curators and collectors in the world.
According to Neha, the biggest achievement of the art fair has been the access and education it has provided to the public at large, which has created widespread interest and awareness in a way it did not exist before.
